In Conjunction with STRETCH (Sculptor, St Louis,MO) Like all elements in the desert, the Saguaro Cactus is especially fragile, yet its beauty is unique not only for its striking vision but also for its interesting internal skeletal frame. These glass Pyrex tubes designed especially to withstand intense heat are formed here to symbolize the internal strands of the Saguaro's insides and its own fragile nature. Like the Cactus, the glass springs forth from the desert and forms a thorny spiny symbiotic and somewhat protective relationship with its host. |
