POST OFFICE - Seoul, Korea, 2002 This is the design for the Central Post office in Seoul, Korea. It is a design collaboration with the Famous Korean Architect Dae Min. The design is a futuristic yet highly organic form that results from site restrictions both in plan as well as volume and height. Circulation and traffic requirements were another architectural determinant as well as function of space and program for a facility that doubles as a public hub as well as a corporate head quarters. The Design Intent was to display the notion that communication has come along way from shouting across mountain tops to wireless invisible modes of communication, with a visible beacon for both antiquity as well as the future. |
