MAIN STREET STUDIO/RESIDENCE- Quechee, VT, 2007 We restored this 1810 original stone, brick and timber frame structure by rebuilding each level and highlighting its own historic and industrial character. We installed all new electrical and plumbing systems along with all custom-made furnishings, railings and cabinetry. The architectural floor plan creates light filled spaces illuminating such elements as sand blasted brick, a new post and beam structure seamlessly connected to a historic frame, new cast in place concrete headers, local slate hearths and window sills, gleaming birch floors and granite slabs along with the fresh use of accented color, traditional plaster, glass tiles low voltage track lighting and stainless steel appliances. What results is a designed and well crafted blend of old and new within a rich vernacular and distinctly Vermont lifestyle and architectural flavor. |
