SONORAN DESERT SHELTER - Taliesin West, AZ - Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture.
Located at the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture. The Shelter site is a historic tent site from Frank Lloyd Wright's 1930's Desert Camp. Originally an equilateral triangle slab, This Design-Build project represents the exploration of modular steel construction framing with the central triangle as the main unifying structural as well as spatial component of the shelter. The frame is in-filled with a collage of textures and materials that in combination with the natural desert create a mosaic painting in architectural form. The shelter speaks to the roots of our Design Build process and custom craftsmanship.
